This campus, Lone Star College- North Harris, is one of the best colleges I have seen. Ever since I have my first tour here in this campus I felt in love with the environment and how well the campus cares is. In my opinion, North Harris is growing and we are getting bigger, as well as, the new cafeteria we are having done in late Fall 08. In addition to the beauty this campus hold is also a good place to start something in life you know what they said WE OPEN DOORS!!!

Congratulations to all those new graduates getting their first degree here at Lone Star College. Good job, what's next now? This is what you have been working so hard for since you started your path to success here at North Harris. Nothing can stop you now! I know you have made those close to you very happy and proud. The end of TV

So for many people the end of analog television came (you might be thinking). Well that is not quite true just jet. A few months earlier the house of representatives has decided that they should extent the day of the Digital Transition. D-day has been moved from February 17 to June 12. Many of you may all ready have felt the effects of the Digital Transition. The House of Representatives did move the day but it will only apply in especial occasions and if the TV broadcaster will apply for the extension of the Digital Transition. So to all of you that are ready for the transition good for you and enjoy the show and for does that are not ready try to get ready soon so you can enjoy the beautiful picture that the Digital age of television offers. I have personally seen the new picture with the digital transition and it looks stunning. It even looks better than that big screen you might have in your living room. I must add that the new Digital Transition does offer some High Definition channels.

Giving Birth Under My House

Hey everyone! I am glad to have started out my semester like I did yesterday. It was nice and exciting. Today is just as new, can't wait to go to class. =)

There have been things going on underneath our house. Not too long ago, I was in my room when I heard these weird noises from beneath the surface. I was thinking it could have been something hge, like a rat for example. A big fat rat. Actually I was wrong. It was a dog.

I knew it was a dog because we also heard little growling sounds, and whining sounds of puppies. This is not the firs time a dog gave birth under our house.

The last dog, was also a stray dog. She gave birth about 6 months ago there too. We called the dog pounds, but I guess they did not do anything about it. The first time though a dog gave birth was ours. Her name was Dora. She gave birth to puppies, which we gave away.

There are a lot of adult stray dogs out there in my neighborhood. I wish something could actually be done about that. Yesterday night I almost ran over a dog, but luckily when I honked at it, it understood to get out of the way. This is sad. The dog pound is located less than 10 minutes from my home, about four streets down. I wonder what they do all day.

Well I am glad I am on campus now, I feel relaxed and ready to start my first class soon.

Last Day to Pay for Early Birds

Wow! You guys should see the long lines today at North Harris. I came to pay, and it seems as if it is going to take forever. Myrecords is slow, so don't fret if it says, "Unable to access the registry database for the request." or other weird things. lol

Hey you all what has been going on. I have been having a great time during the break. About an entire month of fun. I still am getting prepared for next semester because in college, you have to be ready for everything. Man I sure learned a lot last semester and hopefully with this new year I'll make it happen once again. During my break I was in the wanting for some 22 chrome wheels for my ride, but did not get them. I am installing a new system though and one of the best songs to play with my new system is Swang by Trae and H.A.W.K. It's Houston style music for those who are not familiar with it. I have found the video online and I wanted to share it with you. It is really cool since I am wanting to fix up my ride. Check out the cars on this video and tell me if you like because it is exactly what I want. In the background you can tell that they are somewhere in downtown shooting the video in the heart of Houston. If I made a video swanging my ride, I would pass by North Harris to represent my college. Anyways the big guy riding by alone in a long black Caddillac car is H.A.W.K and he got killed in 2006. He and Trae made the song Swang right before he died as a tribute to H.A.W.K's younger brother Fat Pat who got killed in 1998. The chorus of Swang is Fat Pat rapping. Who wakes up early in the morning to go play soccer on thanksgiving day? I do!

Is the only day the restaurant that I work at is closed, therefor we can all go out at the same time. We meet at a park by 1960 and played soccer. Well not me, I was pretending to play because I've had very bad experience when I play with guys. I had a lot of fun. The best part is that instead of turkey I ate fajitas, which in my opinion are better.

That is not the end, around 8pm my friends from work and I went to a concert at arena theater. Cafe Tacuba was the main group that night. They play Spanish rock, but is sure on of the best types of rock. I was jumping too much and now my legs are killing me, though it was worth it. Out of the mini break we had that was one of the most exiting days.

I know that some of the stars that I talk to the most are in LASO. Guys you know the elections are going to be in December the 4th in DTEC 102 at noon. Please make plans to attend that day. I'll be running for president. I know that this is my first semester in the college, but I want to give it a try. I have previous experience as a Vice-president of Future Business Leaders of America back in high school. I know that this will be way different than high school, but for the same reason I would love to have that chance. I have hope that maybe one lucky extra vote from a member will give me the opportunity of representing LASO. I've had so much fun in that organization that it would be an honor to be part of its officers.

I love math. College Algebra is the best class I have, though sometimes I feel like going to sleep in there but I don't. I never do my homework and that's of the things I like the most about it. The only thing I'm waiting on is to finish with my English classes; they take many of my time away and can't focus more on my math homework.
I'm so excited to finish with college Algebra and continue with finite math. Is going to be online, I hope I do good in there. It will be the first online class I'll be taking. Well after all I believe I'll at least pass it.

Have you ever heard of the x-ray machine? There’s a new revolutionary process of taking an x-ray. This came from an unlikely source, duck tape. You might be thinking, what tape has to do with any of these. We’ll some scientists discovered that by placing tape inside a vacuum chamber will create the same kind of x-ray as an x-ray machine will create. As of all great inventions this was discovered by accident. This discovery will not be used for commercial use yet. This is still in the development stage but the scientists predict that it will be used in many if not all health facilities in a short period of time. This will not only make things faster it will also make things much cheaper. This is not only good for everyone, but it is especially good for developing countries and for low income people. So duck take, who would have think that tape would have that amazing property.

Digital TV

There are only 89 days left, as of today. For what you ask. Well if you have not heard I will tell you. As of February 17, 2009 at 12 PM all local channels will not be broadcasting in analog format like they have been doing for ever. They will turn to the new and improved technology (digital broadcasting). This day will revolutionize the way we see television, but only for the people that get the signal over the air. This new technology will make the picture much clear and the sound better than ever before. If you have a TV that is connected to a cable provider or to a satellite provider you don’t have to worry about anything (you are set for the new digital age of television). For people that get their TV signal over the air you have to check if your TV will get the digital signal. You can look at the instruction manual and read it to see if it will take digital signals or you can simply look at the back of you TV and if it has a digital antenna connector you are all set. If not you will need to get a digital converter box. They are very inexpensive and with the help the government is giving they could even be free. Don’t go out and buy the most expensive converter box out their, they all work the same. To get your coupons (the government help I was talking about) you will have to ask for them by going to http://www.dtv2009.com/ or calling 1-888-DTV-2009. You must hurry because the deadline is December 31, 2008. You will also have to buy your converter box as soon as you get your coupon because they expire in 90 day. But if you don’t what to go through all that hazel you can just buy a new plasma TV or sing up for satellite or cable service before you the end of analog broadcasting. Good Luck To All!!!!!!!!!!!!

BEAR-Y FUN

Hey everyone,

This week has been full of events. Unfortunetly I only attended some of those events. There are still more to come.

On Tuesday I went to the student center to Stuff-A-Bear, and so I did. I went along with Zuriel. It was so much fun! I enojyed myself. I got to choose a cute panda and a Red Cape clothing set. It was for two cans or two dollars. The good thing about this event was that it was for a good cause. All the money made on the two days, were for NAM. This is to help out the needy by giving them something to eat. I believe it was a good idea. I do not know of people who went realized the cause of the event, but they should be aware of it. Thanks to those who donated and attended.

On Wednesday, I also went on and attended a Lotería Contest, it was also fun and exciting! I won at first, but because i was not paying attention I didn't get a gift card. On the last game, though, I did win $5 dollars in cash! Yeah, it was good.

My freezing weekend

On Saturday I went with my boyfriend and his family to a Quinceanos. I had a wonderful time there was good music, food, and well everything that could fit in it. The problem was that all the tables were outside, it was in the open air, I could not feel any extremity of my body. The only thing to warm yourself a little, since the dance had not started yet, was tequila. I was not going to drink alot just to keep myself warm, so mainly I was still pretty cold. When finally the quinceanera had dance and all that fancy stuff, the music started. It was so cold that I couldn't feel my feet and don't even thing I was going to the rythm. Even though the party was CONGELADA, I had fun and spent a good time with everyone around there.

Obama and the Media

The media is going to make Americans sick of Obama. He is not even president yet and the media is already talking about who he associates with, what dog he is going to get for the family, etc. By the way I thought that was nice to add that in his speech, that his daughters have earned their new puppy. I think the more I hear about Obama, the more fed up I get with him. Maybe the media will do it to the point where we are not going to want him back in office. Hey! Just like they did Bush, only he cheated. I just hope that they chill on Obama and recognize that he is a leader, not Britney Spears. Let freedom ring! Yes We Can! Yes We Can!. Si Se Puede! AHHH! Cheating

What is consider to be cheating on someone?

I used to believe that with a kiss that was consider cheating, but is it also when some else is trying to talk to you but they don't really ask or know if you are in a relationship. Though is also confusing when you want to let them know but you can't, because you don't' want to hurt them. Which option is better...? and if you tell them, how do you do it with out getting that person mad to the point where they won't talk to you anymore?
Cheating on someone can even be taken to trial. Are we braking the rules???
My conclusion is that there are many questions out there about the subject, but the only person to answer is oneself. That's it.

Hypnosis

So today I went to see a show, at the student center. It was really amazing to see what hypnosis can do to a person. I did not believe my eyes when I saw what I saw. It was quite funny really. I saw people do many weird things. The show was worth the time. I’d tried to get hypnotizes, but it did not work. I just cannot describe the show in words, but instead I will be posting a video of nearly the whole show. I promise you will not be disappointment by the video. I recommend that you see the full video because it’s hilarious.

Today the day is nice. At least it hasn't rain like yesterday. Well they say is going to continue today, but who knows they're not one-hundred percent reliable. Today feels like a day to go out and just walk around. Greeting the breeze as it brushes the hair. I miss those days. I haven't had the time to go out and stare at the stars and find a constellation. Among work, homework, shores, and going out places that I don't even appreciate as most, my time is gone.

Global warming

When I was going to school this morning I saw a big fire. It was really intriguing to see it because I’m a very concerned person regarding to global warming. What I saw in this fire was not something that I wanted to see. This was one of the biggest fires I have ever seen containing materials that will be consider bad for the environment. This fire contain not only wood that was as big as a small automobile it also contain plastic bags and several other perfectly recyclable materials. Such as paper, yard wastes, plastic bottles, and material that was perfectly useful for composting (this is material that is not recyclable such as table scraps). This was very disappointing because many people do not know that they are harming the environment. This is a big concern to me because global warming as its name suggests increases the temperature of the world. This means that the ice in the poles is melting at a rapid pace. What does this mean to me? You say. Well this means that our sea levels will increase as the ice melts. As a result there will be less land mass to live on. I think the only way we can improve our global warming crisis is by recycling and by finding and investing on alternative uses of energy; such as wind power, solar panels, hydrogen fuel cells, and other clean and reusable sources of energy.

I've always had a hard time with English. That's just not for me. I don't even believe that I entered college level English class. Now for my final she already gave us the assignment, which is going to take us a moth to finish. The problem is that I need help from someone that can edit very well. I hope that there is some to guide me with this because I'm nervous about this paper. I only hope I can pass the class. Or maybe she made it sound hard but is actually easy. Point is, I need to star on it. Knowing myself, that paper is probably going to be late. I'll try my best to finish it with no errors, though I doubt it very much.

I got a raise!!

A few weeks ago my boss toll me he was planing on giving me another raise. I don't know why and really I thankful but don't truly care about it. Until I counted and came to the conclusion that I've been working there for a little over a year and little by little in total they've raised me $1.50. It went from 6.50 to 8.00. I was amazed. I've never expected that from that job. I'm only a hostess. Well I most say that sometimes they take advantage of me and use me as their personal secretary but really they pay me for just being there in the entrance of the restaurant saying hi everyone that come in. What can I say I have no complains of my workplace. I love the people that work there and even my boss I have lots of fun when I work. Now even my brother works there.

The reason for my raise was "A gift and you deserve it" well at least that's what my manager said. but come on, who's going to complain about it anyways?

I must confess that the only reason I wanted Obama to win was because I wanted to see something different. Other than that I really did not care. Wow!!! Now I can finally say I had a chance to shake the hands of the 1st African American president of the United States of AMERICA!!!! Yes I TOUCHED HIM!!!! I had a chance to go to the only rally President Barack Obama had down here in Houston and let me tell you ...standing for HOURS was worth every moment!! The experience I had last night watching history being made and the experience I had at the his rally was 1 of the best moments in my life!!

Cafeteria almost there

So you guys have you all seen the cafeteria lately it look really good. I’m quite impressed by the progress and the way it looks. I’m over whelmed. I’m still mad about them saying it was going to be finished by late October but it was not. But now it does not matter. It looks awesome. And the new patio it’s pretty cool. Halloween or Dia de los muertos?

I had fun that short time that I spent helping with the Fall Festival at Carver Center. Too bad for me, I had to go to work. It's the first, and I hopefully last time that I work on Halloween. I didn't even had time to dress-up like I wanted to, but anyways... it's not like it was my last October. Though one never knows when the time comes; it just gets here and that's it.

November the second is the celebration of the death. In Mexico is called the Day of the Dead, El dia de los muertos. I know that most of us know about it regardless of our native country, since the Latin-American culture has spread more in the U.S. over time. A weird coincidence is that on November second is my great-grandma's birthday, she passed away a year ago and we get to remember her for her birthday as well.

What keeps me happy is knowing that she's taking care of me and correcting my manners as she always did.

I got home yesterday from scream word. Which is really good compare to when the first time I went there 2 or 3 years ago. It has changed a lot. But as soon as I saw my brother he ask me with anxiousness to know the answer "Do we have to ware a costume tomorrow for work?" I was shocked myself. I've never heard any of the co-workers talking about it. I soon texted one of them; I was trying to make sure they were not lying to my Innocent brother and they were also going to get me involved in their game. Though it turned out it was not a game. A tornado had walked through my closet on the attempt to find something to ware. Well, all I had were a few little stuff that I had been buying during the year for the Renaissance Festival. I bluse from over here adding a hiden skirt, some old boots plus a bandana on my head equals a "pirate." or whatever it looks like, at least I'm not waring the same clothes for work.

Halloween

Hey you guys Halloween is right around the corner. Its time get the plans going to see what we are all going to do during Halloween. We are going to have a Fall Festival in both North Harris and the Carver Center. Last time I went to the Fall Fest (at North Harris) it was really fun. People were dressed up with these very creative (the people had made them it was really interesting, but that’s what makes halloween fun), some people were dressed up as Mr. and Ms. Pac Men (that was really cool). And for all of you that have children or that have siblings that are going to go trick a treating make sure you or someone checks the candy to see if it’s not open or if it looks suspicious. So to all of you, I wish you a safe and fun Halloween.

The actual problem is that October is OVER... and that promise of "Dining Hall open in "late" October" like Zuriel said, does not seem near October but in November or maybe next semester. I know that this a community and the price we pay for tuition is barley enough to pay the teachers and bills of this place. Though I believe it's not fair that all the time we have to eat outside. There is not sufficient space indoors for all the students that want to eat at noon.

I also highly agree with Zuriel, a Starbucks doesn't sound bad. Besides will never run out of business, between cold and summer we buy Starbucks regardless of the weather. Ironic to ask for a Starbucks when we don't even have a decent "Dining Hall."

I’m getting really tired of waiting around for the cafeteria to open. I know that they are really trying to get if finish by this week but its rally aggravating. (You all remember the signs “Dining Hall will open in ~~early~~ late October”) I have nigh classes MW and I have never seen people work on the cafeteria at night. This time I did see some people working there. The only other thing I really wish that would happen is that they would put a Starbucks at the cafeteria. You know that the coffee is really good and we are all addicted to it. (Not all; ok me!)They really need to finish the “Dining Hall”!!!!

This Past Saturday

Hi Hi Hi!

I cannot believe what a weekend I had. It was just there. On saturday I was without a truck. My dad was using the whole day, but in the evening it was all MINE!

I went with my sister, my bro's girlfriend, my sister's best friend, and my boyfriend to see the movie FIREPROOF. Let me mention this, the movie was more than I expected. It was really touching. It was in fact a Christian movie. It gave the message of how we need God in our lives. I myself am not religious, but trust me on this, wether you are Christian or not, the movie was GREAT. It was more than just a marriage crisis, if you haven't seen it, WATCH IT!

Well after the movie, the lead actress, Erin Bethea, talked to the audience about the movie and her experiences, but most of all, how she related to the film. She mentioned that she wanted to be in this particular show in Disney, but never got the chance and instead took a chance to be apart of Fireproof. Her coice was to then to QUIT Disney. Surprisingly, doing this movie was not for pay at all. It was more like, volunteering. She thought that maybe the movie was not going to have as much success, but she did not back down. I believe she said the movie was shot in 31 days. About a month. Erin said to us that God gives us these gifts, but in order for us to succeed, is to give those gifts back. After the success of FIREPROOF, she got a call from Disney, and got the part in the show she always wanted to do. Her story was inspiring.

She did talk more, and after her presentaion, she was giving out autographs and took pictures. I got her autograph and took a picture with her. How cool! =)

The unfinished cafeteria

So what’s up with the cafeteria? The signs first said that it was going to be done by early October, but then the hurricane came. Now they say it will be open in late October and we are in late October and there is no sign of it being complete or even of it opening. I’m really tired of eating out here in the cold. Even dough this is my fist time eating out here and I’m already tired. I do have something good to say about it. It does look very nice. I have very high expectations for the cafeteria. Hopefully they will have better food and a better staff this time. I must admit that last year they had really bad food and their staff (not all but most) was really rude. I guess we would have to wait till November but hopefully I’m wrong.

OMG ... every day gets even colder and as for me, I don't like wearing big puffy jackets, though they are comfortable when your sleeping in class (don't worry I'm not doing that anymore).

I love the campus, I like the neatness and system of it, but all I sure wish was open already was the Student Center, eating outside is nice only when the climate is not freezing or humid. A few weeks ago I was avoiding to be under the sun, now I seek it. I don't understand myself; I want to spend Christmas at Chicago with my aunts and uncles and here in Houston I'm already freezing.

During the time I've lived here in the US, I had the opportunity to visit Chicago two times already. The city is marvelous. The buildings have to comparison to the ones here but they look unique, antique and that makes them beautiful. My mom is always saying that it's too bad that it's so cold up there and my dad would have no job. If that wasn't the case we'd move to the windy city.

I hate to write essays. I'm have good ideas, but I'm just not a good writer. This time I must write a definition essay, though I think I got a hard topic. I have to define what a good friend is. A very simple very common word but is difficult to find how I define it. So far all I have is that a good friend is every one's brother, sister, parent, relative, doctor, nurse, cook, savior, protector, helper, and/or enemy. That no matter how many friends or how popular that person is , if they are just an enemy that will hit and has no mercy for others that means is not a good friend. They lack a heart. Compassion, humbleness, and humanity is missing in their cruel mentality. On the other hand here could be a person that has no knowledge of family or loved ones and yet has many friends that are know his family. Also that a friend won't forget about you over the time. i don't care if they haven't called me because they're busy and have many activities but when we call or see each other the happiness is always the same with no hard feelings at all. We listen and advice. We care for each other like if they were my own family. But, I'll consider my family, especilly my mother, my best friend.
Though, I know that somewhere one of those people that never dare to greet me will once reach out with their hands and help me out of a problem. Us like enemies can also become friends for once.

The outdoors

I was driving up here this morning and as usual I got stuck on traffic. I paid attention to the many business on the street, but for the first time I notice that behind them there was a empty spot of land. It sure was small but its threes were very tall and outstanding from the rest; the tall grass was the sing that no one had stepped on it in years. All that nature lives right in the back of a gas station. The problem is that some one has put an obstacle on the view. Impeding one to look at the natural beauty, human's creative mind has built enormous constructions. The same beauty that we seak by traveling miles way from the metropolis was located ,many years ago, here where now the destroyer of it inhabits. The outdoor that we know in these days, soon will be gone.

I didnt get home from study group last night until about midnight. I am so tired because I woke up at like 6 am to start studying for our test on Friday and I have to meet another study group today at 1pm.

I am going to have to take a nap before I go to study group because I will fall asleep if I don't. And after people get out of clinical tonight at 5 pm I am meeting the study group from last night so it looks like its gonna be another long day!

Death and Harri Houdini

Hey guys sorry for the delay on my new post for the play, but you know how school is...one week it’s all going as planned, the next you have tests in all your classes.

Anyway, the play was really good. I must say that I did expected more magic, but I do understand that they only had so much time to practice for the show, and magic or illusions are really hard to master.

Other than that the play was awesome. I was a bit scared when Houdini did the water torture scene, this seen is when Houdini got raised up and locked into a tank filled with water. I was nervous because I thought that he was not going to get out because I did not see any possible way to get out of there because I actually saw how they made that tank (I am in stage craft class with Cash, the theater arts professor.

It was really cool to see all those illusions. I really want to learn to do them because it’s driving me crazy that I don’t know how they did all of that. Well until next time.

Medical Terminology

Well I have been learning a whole lot about medicine lately, especially in Medical Term. I love this class because I know most of the anatomy and physiology, but its those combining forms, preffixes, and suffixes that get me. And the diseases, procedures, tests, and abbreviations that hospitals nationwide use are all new to me. I need to remember all of it so I wont drop out of nursing school one day.

In class I do alot of quizzes and lessons on the computer, and lecture is great because even if you did not read the book prior to coming to class, once lecture is done, it feels like you know the chapter from start to finish. I take my tests online, consisting of 60 questions. The text book, The Language of Medicine, is very straight forward and easy to read, unlike my Patho book, but thats a different story. My professor Ms. Brown really knows her stuff. She cares about her students and makes sure that they know the material. She insists that we recognize abbreviations because they are used everyday at the hospitals.

I think most students in Med. Term. are students going in for Health Information Technology. If you are doing Nursing and do not understand anything about it, take this class and you will. If you have never been exposed to Anatomy and Physiology and you are scared that you wont get the desired grade you need to get into nursing school or other medical careers, take this class and you will definately get an A when you do take A & P. I ask myself why Med Term is not a requirement for nursing school admission. The system should change the elective, kinesiology, or speech to this class. It will produce more effective students leaning towards the medical field.

Monday nights

Monday nights are the only nights that I actually watch tv during the week. My favoirte tv shows come, Gossip girl, One Tree Hill, and The Hills. It starts at 7:00pm and end at 9:30pm. I always study before it comes on and then when it does come on I do something that I could do without giving it all my attention.

Beans and Rice

I love it when my mom makes beans and rice. I eat it for dinner and lunch for like two or three days (until I run out). I don't know why I like it so much.

I am almost done with my STARS hours. Tomorrow I will hopefully be done. After today I only have 2 and a half hours left. It was a lot harder for me to get my STARS hours done this semester then I thought it would be. It might not have been so bad if it wasn't for Ike though. I had planned on having my hours done in September but because the las two weeks pretty much the school was closed I wasn't able to get them done.

I don't know why but I like the new wal mart in the woodlands better then any of the other ones. It doesn't have more stuff then the other wal marts or anything I just seem to like it a lot better. My mom and I went shopping there today and my mom found those moon pie things and she has been l okking for them forever and that is the only place she can find them. She bought like 7 boxes of them.

The carnival was actually a lot of fun. There where a lot of people that used to watch me there this year. I went to the same day care that my boyfriends niece and nephew go to now and I found out that some of the people who used to take care of me are back and are taking care of them now. It was actually nice to see them again. I also was able to ride on some of the rides because my boyfriends niece was scared of one of the rides but if I rode with her she was fine.

Death and Harry Houdini

Death and Harry Houdini is a play that will be today on the performing arts theater at North Harris. There will also be other times which include Friday, and Saturday. I have big expectations for this play. I will give some back ground info on Houdini. Houdini was an extremely well know magician during his time. He did stuff that no one else will dear to do. He would lock himself in a tank full of water while he was chained. He will escape and people would be amazed by his stunts. Next time I blog I will tell all about it. Until next time.

THis book has helped me a lot. The best way I can explain it is that it dumbs it down to my level. The stuff that I don't understand when reading Iggy I can understand in this book. If you are in the nursing program and you don't have this book I highly suggest getting it because I think it will be very helpful!

Rain Riding

Did you know that riding a motorcycle while is raining very much, make you loose all the possible respect from cars drivers?

I arrived to this conclusion after this evening. Coming back home after work, under a very heavy rain, I risked at least 15 times more then normal to be ran over from a truck!

It seems incredible, but when the bad atmospheric condition should require more attentions, cars drivers completely forget about using the indicators, look at the mirrors before change lane or turn and give you the right of way at the crossings.

Please watch carefully for motorcycle while driving on the road! We do not have airbags and metal frames around us.. And if we get hit, the percentage of a serious injury is very high.

I had so much fun today on our school visit. We did a lot of stuff and learned a lot. The nurse was very nice to us and helped us any time that we needed her. I had so much fun working with the little kids. I have always said I would want to work with pediatrics and today made me realize I really wanted to work with them.

So, in lecture this week we are talkiing about fluid and electrolytes and when we are talking about hypertonic and hypotonic our teacher makes a reference to Chinese food because of the salt in the food makes you swell up. Another Week

Another week has passed and it is difficult to understand if my studies are helping me.

I feel positive because right now, while I am writing, a lot of the corrections that the teacher did on my last test, it comes back to my mind and helps me to not make those same mistakes again.

But on the opposite side, I know that even if I will study more then necessary, I will never be able to go over a certain level, and I cannot pretend that because there are people that live in this country from 15 years and they still have difficulties.

I only have to hope that what I can do, will be considered enough...

And if not, at least I have tried my best!

The Farm

Home alone

Today was a quiet day. I wasn't feeling well but I did get some studying done and now I am working on my CWS (clinical work sheet). I did talk to my daughter before she left for the wedding and I can tell that she missed not having me around. She loves her dad and her Nana, but there is nothing like having your mother there. It makes me feel good to know that she does miss me when we are apart.

I heard that she sung beautifully for the wedding. My husband said that everyone was coming up to them and complimenting them on how beautiful her voice is and what a wide pitch and range her voice has. I was sorry that I had to miss it but I have a mid-term this week and a lot of work to do, but someone did film it for me, so that's good. I was there with books, when she made District Choir and I will be there with books when she makes Region Choir and than on to State Choir. I am very involved in my daughter's life and it is hard not being there when she is performing. I have been a choir mom since my daughter joined choir in the 4th grade and there are very few performances that I have missed. But now I know how my husband feels when I call and tell him about the achievements that he miss out on involving her :o( This makes me sad, so I through talking about it.

A Shared Day With Friends

Today I got to share my day with two of my friends. We had fun just sitting around talking and laughing. I hadn't seen her since her wedding in July; she is also in nursing. We watched her wedding photos and talked about school. This a rare thing for me to do since I've started nursing school. I also went to see a movie called "Quarantined", it was OK. It's nothing to write home about, but it was good for a couple of laughs. Afterward, I went to Barnes & Noble and bought two books that I hope will help me out in school. I kept one and gave the other one as a gift to a friend.

Now I am going to go study.

Relaxing

I am having a very relaxing day. I love it!!! I haven't had time to think about anything else except for our nursing test since like last weekend. I actually slept until about 10 this morning. I am thinking about going and getting my massage that my mom bought me for my birthday but I don't know if they will take appointments the same day that you get the massage done. Whineding down

Some times it is so hard to wind down. I have finally managed to settle down and relax enough to fall asleep. Long days and long nights. I was so tired today that when I went out to my car and seen this "BIG SUV" park closed to my car I blew up.

Then she got smart with me when I told her about hitting my car with her door. I was looking right at her when she did it and she denied it. That is so frustrating when you have people that try to squeeze into a spot that they know they can't fit into and than beat up other people's car and lie about it. The nerve of some people. Need to tell you I was mad and I let her have it.
